Why won't A2E open on this page?
What’s happening
Chrome doesn't let extensions run on some pages: its own pages (like Settings, Extensions and the New Tab page), the Chrome Web Store, and other extensions' pages. A few websites also hide A2E.
What to do
On the page where it didn't work, press your shortcut (Alt+A on Windows and Linux, Option+A on Mac, unless you've changed it).
A small note appears for a few seconds under the A2E icon in Chrome's toolbar, or under the puzzle-piece Extensions button.
Read the note.
"Chrome doesn't allow A2E on this page." means Chrome blocks extensions there. "This page is blocking A2E." means the website is hiding A2E. "A2E can't open on this page." means A2E couldn't start there for another reason, such as on its own settings page or a page that didn't load.
Switch to a normal website, like a news article, Gmail or YouTube, and press your shortcut again.
A2E's pill appears at the bottom of the page and says "Listening".
If no note and no pill appeared at all, wait until the page has finished loading, then press your shortcut again.
The pill appears.
If A2E's welcome page is open in another tab and you haven't finished setting up, finish the setup there or close that tab.
Your shortcut works on other pages again.
Still not working?
If the pill still never appears, check that your shortcut is set.
