Why isn't my shortcut working?
What’s happening
Your shortcut should open A2E's pill at the bottom of the page. If nothing appears, the shortcut may not be set, another extension may be using it, or the page doesn't allow extensions.
What to do
Type chrome://extensions/shortcuts into Chrome's address bar and press Enter. (If you're signed in to A2E, you can also click the A2E icon in Chrome's toolbar, then Change shortcut.)
Chrome's shortcuts page opens with a list of your extensions.
Find A2E and look at the box next to "Press to talk to A2E".
It shows your shortcut. If it shows no keys, no shortcut is set.
Click the pencil next to that box, then press the keys you want, such as Alt+A (Option+A on a Mac).
The box shows your new shortcut. If Chrome says the keys are already in use, try a different combination.
Open a normal website, like a news article, and press your shortcut.
A2E's pill appears at the bottom of the page and says "Listening".
Still not working?
If a small note by the toolbar says "Chrome doesn't allow A2E on this page.", you were on a page Chrome protects, so try a normal website. If the pill appears and shows a message, your shortcut is working and the message says what to fix.
